THE ILL EFFECTS OF WINE
By the 7th day of the 2nd party, king Ahasuerus was drunk. Drinking wine or other types of alcohol, makes a person lose control over what he says, thinks and how he behaves. He could suddenly become very noisy and start speaking nonsense. He is also not able to think clearly and loses his sense of judgment. Many ghts are started because men come under the influence of alcohol and become violent or aggressive. Under these circumstances, not surprising that the king commanded his queen to parade before others. She was his prize catch, a beautiful woman that he wanted to show off . Drinking wine has become popular, even stylish. Many see it as a high-class way of life. Some of your classmates, even at the tender age you’re in, may actually have taken some alcohol! Dear child, don’t. Stay strong and abstain from alcohol as you grow older.

Thought: It is not for kings to drink wine. Neither is it for me as God’s child.
Prayer: Father in Heaven, thank You for Your Word that warns me about the dangers of alcohol and the sins that it leads to. Help me to abstain from all appearance of evil. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
