POWER ON EARTH? - GOD'S PERSPECTIVE

Psalm 2:1-12

POWER ON EARTH? – GOD’S PERSPECTIVE

Have you ever attended our country’s National Day Parade? During such an event, it is often common to see all sorts of military weapons on display. They would range from sophisticated guns and aircraft to powerful warships and tanks.

Naturally, if a country’s ruler was surrounded with numerous weapons of such, it would be tempting for him to feel powerful. What more if he had several powerful countries as his allies.

In this psalm, David describes evil kings of the earth ghting against God’s kingdom. They, being unbelievers, rage and show their anger towards God. They join hands and fight against the Lord. They say proud words and boast of their strength.

However, God says they are most foolish. They are like ants fighting against a lion. God can destroy them easily with simply a word, a breath from Him. When Christ, the Son of God, returns to judge the world with almighty power, every knee shall bow to Him and every tongue would confess that He is Lord of all.

So come to Christ while there still is time. Only those who trust in Him are blessed.
Q. How will God deal with the proud heathen kings of the earth?
A. God will _______________ them with a rod of iron and
God will _______________ them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

Thought: What a day it will be when Christ comes to rule as king! Will I be ready then?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I only want to be on Your side always. May I be faithful, serve You and rejoice in You daily. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
