THE UPRIGHT MAN

JUNE 8

Psalm 15:1-2

THE UPRIGHT MAN

How would a child of God live? Can a child of God know that he or she will God’s richest blessings?

Yes indeed! Firstly, a child of God will think, do and say what God will be pleased with. An upright man is one that will not join others in sinful ways or ideas. He will not talk and laugh with people who see nothing wrong about sinning. He keeps his distance from them. This is because God has told Christians to hold themselves from any kind of evil.

Secondly, a child of God will work righteousness. That which is good and right he will do. That which is wrong or greedy or selfish, he will not do. Why? The reason is that a Christian wants to be like Christ, who cleansed with His blood from all our sinful ways.

In practical terms, what do the above 2 points mean? It means you and I should not do or say things just because "we feel like it". is is very difficult as we are so used to doing things we like, and often, we don’t consider what God likes. So dear child – try your best!

Thirdly, a child of God also speaks the truth at all times. He does not lie as he fears no man, but only God. Sometimes we may lie for we don’t want mum or dad to know we didn’t finish homework before we watched television. Or we were to play computer games only after we do QT and we lie that we did it. Dear child, if you face such situations, you are not alone! But do commit them to God, and ask Him to help you to dare to tell the truth at all times.

Thought: Who shall abide in the LORD’s holiness?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, may I walk uprightly, well-pleasing in Your sight. Help me to steer clear from sin and keep to the paths of righteousness and truth. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
