THE HEAVENS DECLARE THE GLORY

JUNE 11

Psalm 19:1-4

THE HEAVENS DECLARE THY GLORY

If you look at the sky on a cloudy day, you will see countless puffy shapes and forms up high that will delight. You might even see the shape of a dinosaur up in the sky!

Do you notice that clouds move? Do you notice that their colours also change? Clouds are not always white. Sometimes they have a pinkish glow, and other times they are greyish-black. You can tell whether it is going to be hot and sunny or whether there is going to be a storm. Sometimes you may also see other things such as a rainbow in the sky, and rarely, even an eclipse of the sun by the moon.

Try also to find a clear sky that you can admire at night. It is tough in Singapore but if it is dark enough, you can see twinkling stars. Most of these bright stars also form a pattern. There is the Orion constellation as well as the Taurus constellation. Yes, God makes the starry heavens with all the marvels of the night. As you look at the full moon on certain days, you will also admire the glowing beauty that its reflected light gives, and even its roundness. Occasionally, you may also be able to see some of our neighbouring planets such as Venus and Mars.

These are just some of the glories of heaven that we can see. Imagine the glories of the distant heavens that we cannot see. Our LORD God made them all!

Draw your favourite shape for the moon and cloud in these boxes.

Thought: Which of God’s creation did I notice and appreciate recently?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, let me see more of Your beauty. Let me delight in the wonders of heaven that You have made. Most of all, let me delight in Your love for me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
