Psalm 23:4

I WILL FEAR NO EVIL

All of us will have happy days and sad days. No one on earth will enjoy only happy days all the time. This is because the power of sin has lled this world.

Satan is God’s enemy and seeks to attack us. He uses the world, with all its vain pleasures, to draw us away from God. So there will be days when we feel down because of failure, or perhaps nobody wants to play with us, or maybe people are angry with us for no good reason. We could also be very ill in hospital, or a loved one in the family has just died. These days are like walking through the "valley of the shadow of death".

Still, God is with us, like a good shepherd who constantly abides by His flock, holding His rod and staff .

The psalmist also says that sad days are like a shadow. Shadows cannot harm anybody. Moreover, when there is a shadow, there must be light somewhere, and there is! Jesus is our Light! Satan stands by the side of the road we are travelling and he throws a shadow across our path. But let us rejoice – Jesus is with you and me. We are not afraid of shadows.

Draw the shadow of the dog, the sword and of a giant.

WE SHOULD NOT BE AFRAID OF SHADOWS!

Thought: Sadness and death are only shadows for those who belong to Jesus.
Prayer: ank you, Heavenly Father, for Your presence with me when I pass through difficult times. I will fear no evil because You comfort and strengthen me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
