WAIT ON THE LORD

JUNE 22

Psalm 27:14

WAIT ON THE LORD

God wants His children to patiently rely on Him in all things. Sometimes, even after praying to God about something, the answer may not seem very clear to you right away. Sometimes you may have to wait for a month, a year or even several years.

Be patient. Being demanding is not only being self-centred, but unwise as well. God, in His goodness and wisdom, knows when is the best time to supply your needs.

When we wait for a long time, we might become weak and discouraged. We think that God does not hear us or does not care. That is not true.Perhaps He thinks you are not ready to receive what you asked for. For example, you ask to become the class monitor next year. Let’s say God plans to let you be one. However, God makes you the class monitor the following year instead, after you have had more time to grow into a good leader.

God simply wants us to be strong and have good courage as you wait. God will also strengthen your heart. Have you grown tired of asking the Lord for some things in your life? The psalmist says, "Wait, I say, on the Lord."

Write down 3 things you’ve had to wait some time for, even after praying to God about them.
1. ___________________________ 2. ___________________________ 3. ___________________________
Did you eventually get them? If not, what do you think could be the reason?

Thought: Do I pray according to God’s will or my will?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please teach me the lesson of patience. Your timetable is the best, so please help me learn to trust in You and follow Your time, not mine. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
