Psalm 40:2
"OUT OF AN HORRIBLE PIT"
Have you ever been in a physical pit? It must be terrible, dirty and scary.
People who do not know the Lord are actually caught in a horrible pit. They are in darkness and they are not aware of their pitiful, sinful condition. They are like prisoners in a deep, damp and dark hole which they cannot get out of.They don’t know or don’t want the way out.
How can anyone get out of that pit? It is only God who can bring us out of it. Jesus Christ saved us from our sins and from hell, because He died on the cross in our place. If you have accepted Jesus as your only Saviour and Lord, you have escaped from the pit, thanks to the grace and mercy of God. You know what it is like, because were once in darkness and sin, too.
Have you tried to show your friends and loved ones the way out of this fearful pit? If not, tell them of the Saviour who has died for their sins. Tell them of Jesus who loves us and laid down His life for us. Pray for them. Be patient. The Lord can save them out of this horrible pit that they have fallen into. Will you do your part?
Write appropriate words in the pit to describe the horrible pit.

Helping words: stinking bright torturous dark rotten muddy cosy bare hot painful deep
Thought: Who in your life might still be in the horrible pit?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your great salvation. May You now give me the courage and wisdom to bring Your precious gospel to those who are without the Saviour. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
