JULY 4, Romans 1:17

Today’s verse is one of the most important verses in the book of Romans. It tells us that if we are just, or true Christians, we must have faith in God and live by faith.

Nothing and no one can be more powerful than God. We see His power in creation - He made all things out of nothing in 6 days. Today, He still shows His power in salvation. Long ago, I used to think to myself, “It is impossible for my mother to come to believe in Christ!” Then God showed me His power to save, through the gospel of Jesus Christ. And she came to know God at the age of 55, after decades of idolatory! “Saved from what?” you ask. From the power of sin and the punishment of sin.

Dear child, do you live by faith? Do you believe in the truth of the Bible? As you learn from your Bible and these Junior RPG notes, do you believe in Jesus, whom you have never seen? And no one you know has ever seen Jesus or God too. How then can you believe? The only true objective way is through the Bible.

Of course, we can see the power of God in the things around us. Look at the sun, the moon, and the stars. You know there although the sun is a lot larger than the earth we live in, there are many other stars much larger than the sun. And there are many other galaxies out there, all orbiting in outer space in perfect harmony. Surely there must be a God!

But dear child, most of all, trust in the Bible!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the great salvation I have in Jesus Christ. Please help me to live by faith and to trust more in You day by day. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
