MAY 3,  Proverbs 1:1-9

Have you seen children who don’t obey their parents? You can see them perhaps at shopping centres, losing their temper and crying when their parents refuse to buy any toys for them. They would make a lot of noise and create a scene hoping their parents will give in to them.

The obedient child will simply obey when their parents say “No” to their request. They know their parents’ word is to be obeyed. When Mother wants you to stop watching television, switch it off. If you are asked to keep your room clean, obey her. God wants children to obey their parents.Those who honour their father and mother gladly do what their parents want. Their homes will be happy homes! And when you obey, do it willingly and immediately – not grudgingly and with hesitance.
