JANUARY 2, Proverbs 1:1-7
“Come to my office at once.” When Alvin heard his school principal’s thunderous voice, his heart beat really fast and his knees started knocking against each other. He had cheated in his exam and his mind was racing to see where he could run to hide. However, he knew that he would get into bigger trouble if he did not submit and obey the principal so he decided not to anger him further. Alvin feared because the principal has power to punish him for breaking a school rule.
The Bible says that we are all born sinners and penalty for sin is death. The Bible is the Word of God and it will always be true. So children, we ought to believe that God means what He says and has the power to punish us because He has created us and is all powerful.
Yes, we ought to fear God and fear breaking His commandments. First, we must believe in the true and living God who has sent Jesus to save us from the penalty of sin. Then, we will begin to know more and more of Him.
Strike off the wrong words in this statement:

Thought: Only when I believe and have a deep respect or reverence for God will I receive godly wisdom.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please increase my knowledge of Your love and power. Help me to worship You in the right way, always keeping quiet and paying attention during Junior Worship. Most of all, may what I learn be applied in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
