TRUST IN THE LORD

JANUARY 6, Proverbs 3:5-6

“Give me back my money!” Tiny Tim was muttering under his breath while struggling to free himself from Big Bully Ben’s grasp. A gang of boys was surrounding Tim and Joel stood by, petrified. “Don’t you dare tell the teachers! We will beat you up. So, don’t forget the money next week.” The gang then stormed off. Tim and Joel were scared stiff by their threat.

When Tim caught his breath, he told Joel, "I shall ask my older cousin for help. He is strong and has many bodybuilder friends from the gym.” After a while, Joel said, “No, Tim. That is not right. Remember what we learnt in Sunday school? Let us trust God to show us what to do. Let us pray.” The boys then prayed. They were still shaken, but after the prayer, they felt better. Recalling that the discipline master had told them once that they must report any bullying incidents to the teachers, they decided to tell their form teacher.

Sometimes, it is difficult to do what is right. But, one thing is sure. No problem is too hard for God and no matter too small to escape God’s attention. So, children, let us tell the Lord our problems and ask Him for directions in whatever we do. Trust in the Lord always. He will show us the right way and protect us.

Look at some of the difficult tasks people of the New and Old Testaments had to do. However, by trusting God, they were able to achieve success. Link the person/s to the task. If you need help, ask your Junior Worship teacher ...

Thought: I can trust God for directions and need not try to solve my problems alone.

Prayer: Our Father in Heaven, it is wonderful to know that we can always depend on You. Help us to remember this when we’re in trouble. Help us to trust in You always. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
