JANUARY 18, Proverbs 11:24-26
A century ago, many countries were not developed. Africa was a continent with many of these countries. She was full of jungles and wild animals like lions and many of her natives were cannibals. That means that any foreigners may either be eaten up by wild animals or people. The natives were illiterate and they did not have the Bible. But God is merciful. He sent many missionaries to bring the Gospel to them so that their souls might be saved.
You may think in your heart, “Wow! Missionaries must be very brave people. They are neither afraid of losing their lives nor living under difficult conditions without clean water and proper medical care. They are so admirable. I want to be a missionary when I grow up. I want to win souls for Christ!”
Do you know that you need not go to a foreign land to be a soul winner? You can be a soul winner wherever you are. Your school, your neighbourhood and your home are all parts of your mission field. You can invite your friends to church, give them tracts to read and tell them how God has answered your prayers and what you have learnt from the word of God about faith and God’s grace and mercy.
There was a ten-year-old girl who attended our Daily Vacation Bible School and was converted. The first thing she did when she reached home was to tell her mom, “I have become a Christian. Let me tell you how to be one too.” Of course, action speaks louder than words., so you must behave like a good Christian so that others will want to know Jesus, too. This girl did the right thing: if Jesus was so great to her, she would surely want to share Jesus with her loved ones and friends! How about you?
Write the names of your friends in the space below and pray for their salvation during your quiet time with God:

Thought: May I be a little missionary for Jesus!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, just as I have received the Gospel and have been saved, help me to freely share the Gospel with others, so that they may be saved too. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
