JUNE 2, Psalm 1:2-3
Practice makes perfect. The best pianists practise for hours every day on the piano. The best basketball players are those who are agile and are sharpshooters – again a result mainly from hours of practice on the basketball court. Christians are similarly to think and obey God’s law day and night if they desire to grow strong in the faith.
Constant reading of God’s Word will result in Christians being fruitful. Of course, you must read with obedience in your heart. Then you will be like a tree that is growing by the river, well watered, and bearing many fruits for all to enjoy. Our faith needs to be “watered” by God’s Word. A healthy mango tree will produce sweet and juicy mangoes. A faithful and obedient Christian will also produce Christ-like works of kindness to others and goodness of the heart.
What is your favourite fruit, and what do you like most about it? Can you draw a picture of the actual plant that bears this favourite fruit of yours? Now think of one spiritual quality you would like to bless others with. Write this below your drawing: “My Favourite Fruit ”
