JUNE 6, Psalm 8:1-2
Our LORD’s name is excellent. It is above the glory of the heavens, the sun, the moon and the stars. Even the infants and tiny babies know how to praise God.
When Jesus was on earth, He loved children and had urged the disciples to bring the children to Him. In Matthew 21:16, Jesus also quoted this psalm to show the faith that little children had in Him. You see, after Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, little children continued singing their hosannas to Him in the temple. The religious leaders of Israel were angry and demanded that Jesus put a stop to these songs. But Jesus refused. Those leaders didn’t believe that Jesus was the only Saviour.
The leaders of Israel refused to honour Him, but God gave Jesus the glory He deserved through the lips of children instead. Today, many government leaders and learned people also refuse to give glory to God. However, God still receives praise from the lips of His children.
Are you a child of God? If so, do your words and conduct glorify the LORD or shame Christ?

Thought: More precious than the testimony of creation are the simple praises of a little child.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please forgive me for the times that I do not glorify You in my speech or actions. Help me to ever praise Your name for Your glory and Your love towards me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
