SORRY FOR MY SINS

JUNE 27, Psalm 38:18

Some of you probably know by now that “iniquity” is sin. All of us are guilty of iniquity. We are often selfish and do not care whether our parents, siblings or friends are hurt by our selfish demands. We are only interested in play and do not care enough for those who are sick or lonely. We are greedy and fight with our brothers and sisters over food, clothes and toys. Are you sorry for your sins?

The psalmist here says he is ready to declare and admit his sins. Such open confession is good for the soul. When the Word of God tells us that it is wrong to be selfish, greedy and lazy, we should quickly go to God to confess, ask for forgiveness and cleansing from God.

God will not hear our prayers if we hide sin in our hearts. How do we know this? Psalm 66:18 says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me”.

God will hear and forgive you if you come to Him with a penitent heart. He will hear and forgive you if you don’t want to sin anymore.

We should be sorry for our sins even though nobody knows it because:

1. __________ knows.

2. Sin hinders our __________ to God and He will not answer.

3. Sin breaks our friendship and __________ with others.

Thought: God, who is holy, hates sin.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please search me and know my heart. If there be any wickedness in me. Please show it to me so that I can confess and seek forgiveness. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
