JANUARY 25, 1 Peter 3:15 

Sometimes, Christians have the wrong notion that the road to holiness is a sad one. That is absolutely not true. There will be times when friends tease us, or we are disadvantaged because of our faith. In times like these, while we wish they will not happen to us, we can draw strength from God.

When was the last time you smiled or laughed? Childhood should be one of the happiest times of your life. For the Christian child, there is even more reason to have happiness and hope in our lives, for we have Jesus!

The happiness we have is not as the world’s, for their happiness is based very much on circumstances. When times are good, they feel up. But when times are bad, when problems surround them, they feel down.

For us,our hope is based on the Word of God.Today’s lesson reminds us that if we have such a hope, we should also be ready to witness to others why we have this hope. So live a life of trust and happiness in the Lord, have a ready answer when people ask why you are happy, and the Lord will perhaps use you as a powerful witness!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, grant to me joy and happiness in obeying You and help me to know Thy Word more, so that I can be more prepared to give an answer for my hope and happiness. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
