MARCH 28, 2 Peter 3:9

Time is not the same to God as it is to man. To God, a thousand years can be as one day. Man is bounded by time but God is not.

However, the main reason for God’s patience in His Second Coming, is His mercy to many people who are not saved yet. The years God gives the world is a further opportunity for men to repent and turn to Him.

When men are slow to fulfill their promises, they are slack. But with God, it is an indication of His longsuffering to us. He is allowing time for more men to repent. God’s great loving heart is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But when He finally comes, it will be an earth shaking event!

And you know, Jesus is coming again soon. There are a few signs that have been fulfilled, and they point to the imminent return of Jesus.

          These are some of them:

          1. The number of wars, famines and earthquakes
              has risen in recent years. You will recall the great
              Japanese Tsunami (2011) and the Shanghai
              earthquake (2008) and the many wars in the world.

          2. Pestilences abound - SARS, bird flu, mad cow disease,
              nipah virus in pigs as well as dengue fever.

          3. The gospel has been preached to every corner of
              the world, possible only with modern technology.

Thought: Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, may I be occupied with You and Your Kingdom while I wait for the Second Coming of Christ. As I see the signs of His coming, may I really determine in my heart to be a good Christian. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
