DOES GOD ACCEPT YOUR WORSHIP?

SEPTEMBER 4, Isaiah 1:10-15

Israel was redeemed from Egypt to become “a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:6). A full code of worship and ceremonies, sacrifices and feasts were handed down by God to His people through Moses. Priests were also appointed out of the tribe of Aaron to administer these holy rites in order to instruct the people in sincere worship.

The people thought that God would be satisfied if they just went through the motion of worshipping and religious rituals. Sadly, their lives were filled with sins. God, who knows our every thought, was not pleased with their sacrifices and did not hear their prayers. Outward show of religion without the right attitude of worship was not acceptable to God. God will not accept our worship if our heart is not right with Him.

Do we also have a show of religion without a heart? Do we go to church only because our parents want us to? Do we bother to learn God’s Word wholeheartedly? And even as we give our offering to God, do we do it with a sincere and thankful heart? Remember that going to Church regularly by itself does not make us right with God. Have you repented of your sins and looked to Jesus as your personal Saviour?

How should we worship God?

If you worship God like a robot, perhaps you do not know our wonderful Saviour and have not come to accept Christ.

Thought: May the Lord accept my worship!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach me to be serious in my spiritual life whether I am in church or at home. Teach me to learn from Your Word and apply them in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
