GOD PROTECTS AND PROVIDES FOR ELIJAH.

JULY 6, 1 Kings 17:2-6

After Elijah had spoken to Ahab, God told him to turn eastward and hide himself by the brook Cherith which was just before Jordan. Elijah obeyed God and went as directed.

By the brook of Cherith, something unusual happened. You must have fed a bird or birds before. But have you ever experienced a bird bringing you food? Elijah did! Ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and evening. Ravens are large glossy black species of crows. They are known to be greedy. You would expect these birds to eat up the food before Elijah could even notice! It is indeed a miracle that they delivered food to Elijah. Only God, the Creator of heaven and earth, has the power to make ravens do that. The brook which is a little stream, supplied drinking water for Elijah.

God knows our every need and lovingly provides for us. See how He provided Elijah with a safe place to rest, his meals and water. He even knows our future needs. As we read more about Elijah’s experience, we will find God never fails to protect and provide for His children.

Colour the ravens black and the water in shades of blue.

Thought: God knows our every need!

Prayer: Thank you Heavenly Father for Your daily provisions. Thank you for blessing me daily so I will have no lack in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
