“The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God…” 

In 2008, a group of atheists in London raised money to fund an advertisement campaign to put signs on buses throughout the city. The slogan they put up read “There’s probably no God, now stop worrying and enjoy your life”. Sad to say, this is the philosophy of many people in the world today. How about you? Do you acknowledge God to be real? Is He real in your life?

Those people who reject God have rejected the clear signs that He has given us in this world to clue us in to His existence. The psalmist declares that just by looking up at the grandeur of the heavens and seeing the beauty of the firmament spread about us, we would be able to know of God. The simple but majestic splendour of the sky proclaim to us the glory of God, and His mighty hand in creation. It is only sinful men with their arrogant discoveries in science, who have declared that God does not exist, and that this whole world evolved through time and chance over billions of years. Truly, only the fool would say in his heart, there is no God (Psalm 14:1). Throughout history, man has always had an innate knowledge of a being higher than they, of one who created them and controlled their fate. Whilst they may not have known the true God, by simply marvelling at creation around them, they concluded that God is real. Like the men of Athens in Acts 17, they devised pagan and heathen religions in an attempt to worship this ‘unknown god’.

For us, we have the privilege of knowing the living and true God. He has given us a whole book to teach us who He is, how we can know Him and live a life pleasing to Him. If God is indeed real in your life, then you must desire to live a life that witness to others that He exists! Sadly, so many so-called Christians today claim to believe in God, but they care nothing for His Word and His commandments. Instead, like the atheists, they seek to enjoy life the way they please. Are you one of them? 

Dear teen, if God is real to you, show it in the way you live your life. Show it in the way you study the Bible. Show it in the way you love your family and obey your parents. Yes, there are countless ways you can show your obedience to God’s commandments and glorify Him.
